Prosser Creek Reservoir lies at about 5,700 feet just north of Truckee, a small lake of about 750 acres on Prosser Creek, ringed by pines. It holds rainbows and browns, and its quiet water and short drive make it a good float tube lake for Truckee anglers.
Ice-off in spring and fall are best, with chironomids and leeches near the creek inlets and along the weed edges. The lake is drawn down through summer. The statewide rules apply on the lake, and Prosser Creek below the dam is catch and release with barbless artificial lures.
