Recent & upcoming hatchery plants

Where the trout truck has been this week, where it's headed next. We pull stocking schedules from California's CDFW, Colorado's CPW, Idaho's IDFG, and Wyoming's WGFD daily, and surface anything that lands on the rivers we cover.

Notes

Hatchery plant
A delivery of hatchery-raised fish to a river or section by the state agency. Different agencies publish at different precision — some give exact dates, others post a week range.
Stocked vs. wild
Plants are usually catchable-size rainbows targeted at heavily-fished, easily-accessed water. Wild trout sections and quality-water designations are generally not stocked.
Why this matters
Recent plants concentrate fish near access points for a few days. Useful for casual outings, less so for finding wild fish or chasing specific water types.

Stocking schedules are published by state fish-and-wildlife agencies. Full state-wide calendars live with each agency — what we list here is the subset that applies to the rivers we cover.
