Wyoming
Pathfinder Reservoir fills the North Platte and Sweetwater valleys at about 5,800 feet southwest of Casper, one of Wyoming's oldest and largest reservoirs, finished by Reclamation in 1909. It holds walleye, rainbows, browns and cutthroat, and it sits between the Miracle Mile above and Alcova and Gray Reef below.
Trout come shallow near the North Platte and Sweetwater inlets in spring and fall, where streamers and leeches take them; the Miracle Mile's lower end draws big fish up from the lake in spring. Summer is walleye season. The lake is big, open and windy. Wyoming's general limits apply, and the North Platte below Kortes Dam is single-point barbless hooks only.
