Washington
Pass Lake sits in Deception Pass State Park on Fidalgo Island, a lake of about 100 acres just above the pass. It is fly fishing only, catch and release for all trout, and closed to every kind of motor, which has made it the best-known fly fishing lake in western Washington. It holds rainbows, browns and cutthroat.
It fishes all year, with the mild marine climate. Chironomids carry much of the year, damsels and callibaetis come in spring and summer, and leeches and small streamers work in winter. A float tube, pram or kayak is the way to fish it, and the shallow ends and weed edges hold the most fish.
